Our Story *

We met in 2015

At Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY

We took as many adventures as college students could -- this is us in the Berkshires, where James would move later for Terracorps.

We spent a lot of time in and around New Haven., when we could. Emma would eventually take a summer job (2 summers in a row) at Yale just to keep seeing James.

New Orleans 2018, where we both presented research at an academic conference.

It is also home to Mass MoCA, where we would get married 10 years later!

Our first visit to Seattle & first picture in the City: James would propose to Emma in this same spot 5 years later!

After a brief ~2,900-mile drive…

We moved to Seattle

We finally made it here & continued our adventures in a new city!

Ferry rides, long walks to new places, & figuring out how to live through a pandemic:

We've continued our journey
